Pittsburgh Criminal Lawyer > Pittsburgh Drug Crime Lawyer > Drug charges lawyer discusses raid on methadone clinic

Agents from the FBI, assisted by other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, served a search warrant last month at a methadone clinic along Route 51 in North Union. The FBI closed off entry to the Mountain View Plaza on Pittsburgh Road on Thursday, just north of Uniontown in Fayette County. Authorities were tight-lipped about the reason for the search at Addiction Specialists, Inc. It was reported that no additional information would be released Thursday morning. The target of the search or whether anyone was taken into custody would not be disclosed either. Officers from Uniontown Police, Perryopolis and Everson, as well as the Fayette County Sheriff’s tactical unit and several K-9 units, assisted at the scene. Officers stopped motorists who attempted to enter the plaza. Addiction Specialists, Inc. is licensed to dispense methadone and buprenorphine to recovering addicts, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs website. In February, inspectors discovered the center had expanded its services from its authorized clinic to the nearby strip-mall location.
