PA man sentenced on illegal gun charges

Pennsylvania Gun Law Attorney Possessing illegal firearms in the state of Pennsylvania can land you in jail for a long time. Even without a prior criminal record, a person convicted on gun charges can face several years in prison and even more years of probation. If you have been charged with possession or distribution of illegal firearms it is important that you have a strong criminal defense attorney on your side who knows Pennsylvania’s gun laws and who can fight for the best possible outcome for you and your family. Claysville man sentenced to nine months A Claysville, Washington County, PA man was sentenced to nine months in jail and twelve months of probation after he pleaded guilty to gun charges. The 53-year-old unassuming man who lives in a small community about ten miles southwest of Washington’s county seat apparently turned pistols and semi-automatic guns into machine guns and fully automatic weapons. A federal judge laid the sentence down this Thursday. Although the man had no prior criminal history and was touted by family and friends as a “kind and loving person,” the judge said that the man, a firearms specialist at a local sporting goods store, should know better than almost anyone that what he was doing was illegal. Despite the man’s attorney’s request for house arrest and argument that he’s not an “arms dealer,” just someone who enjoys shooting around in his back yard, the judge sentenced the man to jail anyway.
